Jerry Ptacek will give a lecture and show samples of how to do good composition in photography as well as how to do night photography. Jerry has been a part-time professional photographer for more than 20 years. His website is PTACEKPHOTOGRAPHY.COM

In April 2010 Ptacek opened JS Photo LLC capitalizing on his 30 years experience within the transportation industry as regional photographer documenting newsworthy projects while holding various managerial positions. He also covered weddings on weekends for seven years during his working career. In Europe he exposed the beauty of some of the famous landmarks in France, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, and Italy during vacation travels.

Jerry prints his images on Canon PRO -10 up to 13"x 19." Larger sizes are sent to Bay Photo. His commercial pictures have been published in many trade journals and he displays in local galleries. He custom mats and frames all his prints.

Jerry utilizes his technical knowledge with all types of photography equipment while teaching classes at local park districts and libraries over the past two years. He enjoys passing on his knowledge of exposure to students of all ages to create that perfect image.

Artist statement: The elegance of photography lies in the fact that we are able to revisit the quintessence of those moments well after they have come and gone. Our trip photographs these past few years from Italy, France, Ireland, Norway, and Alaska clearly reflect that style. I believe the art of photography lies in the ability of the photographer to isolate a moment, place, or a thing giving us a chance to contemplate its fundamental beauty for years to come.

The public is welcome, a donation for the local food pantry is appreciated.
Free parking. Refreshments will be served.
