Call for Fiber Artists at Crete Creative:
A Skewed View: Definition: Distorted, altered, deceive, disfigure. Having an oblique or slanting direction/position.
When looking for inspiration, think of everyday objects, landscapes, structures, or scenes. Use your artistic eye to create your piece that will be slightly hard to recognize at first glance by a viewer.
Exhibition Dates: May 18 - July 1-2023
Eligibility:
All work must be original. All work must be of Fiber content.
FIBER: Natural or Synthetic. Fabric, yarn, fleece etc.
Embellishments and Ephemera permitted
Max size- 30 x 40, Min size- 10 x 10, 2D, 3D and free standing

McCord Gallery (Palos Park, IL) invites artists to apply for the upcoming exhibition "That Face! Portraits Both Human & Animal". Our theme is open to all artists, age 18 or older, who have captured the face of a person or animal in traditional or non-traditional styles. The artistic intention is to reveal the subject's unique personality, giving the viewer insight into their character, be it neutral, satirical, celebratory, cultural, aggressive, docile, quirky or humorous.
Eligible work: Acceptable mediums include Acrylic, Charcoal, Collage, Color Pencil, Graphite Pencil, Encaustic, Mixed Media, Oil, Pastel, Pen & Ink, and Watercolor. No Giclees or reproductions of original works will be accepted. Artists may submit up to 3 works for consideration for both the in-gallery exhibit and full virtual gallery of works on our website. All submissions will be considered. All styles and aesthetics are accepted, from traditional to abstract to contemporary. McCord Gallery selections are based on creativity, quality of artistry and originality as represented in the images submitted.
The McCord Gallery & Cultural Center is a non-profit art gallery open to everyone; as such, the content of submissions should be appropriate for all viewers.
